Airtel, Reliance Jio Announce Relief For Flood-Hit Users In J&K, Ladakh, Himachal; Offer Free..

Jyotiaditya Scindia said the Department of Telecommunications has activated Intra-Circle Roaming (ICR) in Jammu and Kashmir.

Providing relief to flood-hit people in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh , telecom operators Airtel and Jio offered three-day validity extension for prepaid consumers and a grace period on postpaid bill payments.

He posted on X, “My thoughts & prayers are with all those affected by the heavy rains and landslides in Jammu & Kashmir. To ensure people remain connected during this tough time, @DoT_India has activated Intra-Circle Roaming (ICR), allowing users to latch on to any available network. Please share your thoughts with us so that we can review its effectiveness and improve support across the region.”

A Jio spokesperson said the company is working to restore connectivity in several areas to ensure access to emergency services and facilitate family communication.

Mobile users will receive unlimited voice calling and 2GB of high-speed data per day, at no cost while JioHome users will get 3 additional days benefit of their last valid plan.
