New Delhi: Tata Group's airline, Air India (AI) on Thursday unveiled its logo and the aircraft in an exuberant ceremony in New Delhi. During the ceremony, Air India announced that its new design will be on its brand new Airbus SE A350 jets by the end of this year.

India's foremost airline shared the all-new logo on their Twitter handle
Tata Sons and AI chairman N Chandrasekaran reflected on the new design and said that mixing AI's famed jharoka (window) and Vistara's purple with AI's traditional red and white "signifies limitless possibilities, progressiveness and confidence."
Chandrasekaran adding further spoke about AI's revival as a world-class airline as a "national mission".

New logo puzzles netizens
Air India excitedly shares its vision for the new logo. However, the airline's new symbol has received mixed responses from people. Some of the Twitterati were appreciative of the new art, while others were left muddled.
Reacting to AI's new logo Shahi Tharoor tweeted saying, "It's the inside that matters and not the outside."
Air India has left the internet divided into two sections; people taking the new design positively and the ones who were just more comfortable with the old one.

In a statement which was issued earlier, the airline said that a new era of transformation will be revealed at an event on August 10. The logo of Air India that it had been using since 2014 showed a red swan with the orange Konark Chakra image on it. The airline said that it will get a new livery that will feature red, white and purple. While red and white are Air India's colours, purple is taken from the livery of the airline Vistara.
