The Destination Alert feature is a remarkable service that serves as a travel alarm. It provides passengers with a mobile alert approximately 20 minutes before their scheduled arrival at the destination station. This alarm acts as a gentle reminder that your station is approaching, prompting you to prepare for disembarkation and collect your belongings. It is worth noting that this service must be configured before you board the train.

Service Charges

Indian Railways offers the Destination Alert service for a nominal fee. When setting the alarm via a phone call, passengers will be charged Rs 1.20 per minute in metro cities and Rs 2 per minute in non-metro cities. Alternatively, for those who prefer using SMS, the charge is Rs 3.

How to Activate the Destination Alert:

Method 1:

Dial the railway helpline number 139.
Choose your preferred language.
Press * to speak to a customer care representative.
Provide your 10-digit PNR number.
Specify your destination station.
Your alarm will be set.

Activate the alarm service through SMS.
Open your messaging app and type ALERT.
Send the message to 139.
Your Destination Alert service will be activated promptly.
