Adar Poonawalla’s Serene Productions entered into an agreement to invest Rs 1,000 crore in Karan Johar led Dharma Productions and Dharmatic Entertainment (collectively Dharma). With this investment, Serene Productions will acquire 50% stake in Dharma, with Karan Johar retaining the remaining 50% stake.

What Changes For Karan Johar’s Dharma?

Karan Johar, as Executive Chairman, will lead the company’s creative strategy, while Apoorva Mehta, CEO, will collaborate on overall direction and operational management.

Notably, Dharma Productions, established in 1976 by Yash Johar, is a pioneering Indian film production and distribution house, currently led by Karan Johar. For over 40 years, Dharma Productions has been delivering critically acclaimed and commercially triumphant cinematic experiences.

The company is known for films including Kuch-Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhhie Gam, and more.
