Aadhaar Card Update: The Government has now made it mandatory to update your Aadhaar card information every ten years in order to combat Aadhaar fraud. The government encourages users to update their Aadhaar card which was created ten years back and has not been updated.

It has been made mandatory to get the information of each and every Indian citizens in the government database and to curb the document fraud also.

According to UIDAI, people can update their unique ID records online as well as offline. It is done by uploading supporting documents (proof of identity and proof of address) either online or by visiting the nearest Aadhaar centre.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology recently issued a public advisory advising Indian residents who have not updated their Aadhaar card in the last ten years to do so in order to keep data in the government database accurate.

How to update an Aadhaar card online?

Go to the UIDAI’s official website, uidai.gov.in.

Select ‘Update Demographics Data and Check Status’ under ‘My Aadhaar’ tab.

Login using your credentials.

Enter your Aadhaar number as well as the security code.

Tap on ‘Send OTP’ and a one-time password will be sent to your registered mobile number

Go to the ‘Update Aadhaar Online’ section after logging in.

Before clicking ‘Update Aadhaar,’ read the instructions.

Now, select the information that needs to be updated.

In order for your Aadhaar card to be updated, you must upload proof of your new address. Select ‘Proceed to Aadhaar Update’ now. Please send the request. You’ll then be directed to the payment portal. You must pay Rs 100 to have your information updated.

How to update Aadhaar card offline?

To update your Aadhar card first you have locate the nearest Aadhaar card Centre

Visit the centre then you have to fill the form of Aadhar card updation

After form filling you will get your token number

Then you have to go to the verification counter

After that you have to pay Rs100 for update

You must have required documents of your address proof.

If your Aadhaar’s Demographic details (Name, Address, DoB, Gender, Mobile Number, and Email) are out of date, you can have them updated by visiting an Aadhaar Enrolment Center.

Aadhaar-holder children (over the age of 15) and others who need to update their biometric details (fingerprints, iris, and photograph) must also visit an enrolment centre.
