According to the information released by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) on Thursday, the number of Aadhaar authentication transactions reached more than 221 crores in August 2025, registering an increase of 10.3% over last year.
This increase is not only higher than the previous month but also higher than the same month of the previous financial year. UIDAI says that this growth reflects the increasing use of Aadhaar and its utility, which coincides with the expansion of the digital economy in the country.
There has also been a significant jump in the field of face authentication solutions. The number of face authentication transactions stood at 18.6 crores in August 2025, while this figure was 6.04 crores in August 2024.
UIDAI also informed that on September 1, the number of face authentication transactions crossed 1.5 crores, which is the highest record in a day so far. Earlier this record was made on August 1, when 1.28 crore transactions were done.
The organization also said that more than 150 organizations, including government ministries, departments, banking sector entities, oil companies and telecom operators, are using face authentication to provide services and benefits smoothly.
Also, 38.53 crore e-KYC transactions were also done during August 2025, which shows the increasing need and use of Aadhaar-based digital verification.
