DA arrears

Meanwhile, the central employees (7th Pay Commission) are also hopeful that the central government may take a big decision on the payment of arrears of the increase in dearness allowance held during the Covid period. Meanwhile, the central government increased the DA by 17 per cent in a lump sum for January 2020, June 2020 and January 2021. But during that time the frozen money was not paid to the employees. After the improvement in the situation from Covid, the employees’ union has been continuously demanding payment of DA arrears of 18 months from the government. If this happens, then they can get the benefit of up to Rs 2,00,000. However, on several occasions the Center has refused to pay DA arrears.

Increase in fitment factor

Besides, news is coming that the government is seriously considering the long-standing demand of increase in the fitment factor by the central employees (7th Pay Commission). At present, fitment factor is being given to central employees at the rate of 2.57 per cent. There is a demand to increase it to 3.68 times. With the increase in fitment factor from 2.57 to 3.68, the minimum basic pay will increase from Rs 18,000 to Rs 26,000. If the central government accepts this demand, then there will be a tremendous increase in the minimum salary of the central employees.
