New Delhi: The Central government is showering benefits on its employees. A week after the central government employess received 4% hike in their Dearness Allowance, media reports claimed that the employees may get hike on HRA soon.
According to the latest reports, the Central government is planning to increase the HRA of employees soon. If the Centre increases the house rent allowance (HRA) of the government employees then their salaries is also likely to increase. A revision in HRA is expected anytime soon.

Dussehera bonanza: 4% DA hike
The Union Cabinet on September 28, 2022 cleared a proposal to increase the dearness allowance (DA) of the central government employees and pensioners by 4 per cent.
This is the second increase in the dearness allowance of the central government employees this year.
In March 2022, the government announced 3 per cent increase in DA. That increase was effective from January 1, 2022. Central government employees, central government pensioners and family pensioners getting pensions from the central government will benefit from the increase in the DA.
Before the 4 per cent increase approved by the union cabinet on Wednesday, the effective DA of the central government employees and pensioners stood at 34 per cent. Now, this is increased to 38 per cent.

Last time HRA increased in July 2021
The Central government employees must note that the last time the HRA was increased was in July 2021 and that time, the DA was also increased to 28 percent.
