7th Pay Commission: There is big news for over 1 crore central employees and pensioners, waiting for a hike in dearness allowance. Their wait for hike in dearness allowance and dearness relief may end on Friday. In fact, tomorrow i.e. on March 17, a cabinet meeting can be held under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After this meeting, the central government can give great news to its employees and pensioners. Inflation hike can be announced on this day. Earlier there were reports that on March 15, an increase in their DA may be announced. But this did not happen. It is now reported that on March 17, an increase in dearness allowance and dearness relief will be announced.

Over 1 crore employees and pensioners will be benefited

Significantly, the increase in the dearness allowance (7th Pay Commission) by the central government will benefit about 47 lakh employees and 68 lakh pensioners of the country. The government had increased DA by 3 per cent at the beginning of the year, after which the dearness allowance had gone up to 38 per cent. Then by increasing DA by 4 percent, the dearness allowance will increase to 42 percent.

DA will be 38 to 42 percent

It is worth noting that the central employees (7th Pay Commission) are currently being paid DA at the rate of 38 per cent. If it increases by 4 percent, it will increase to 42 percent. After this, the annual dearness allowance will increase to Rs 90,720 for those with a basic salary of Rs 18,000. Talking about the difference from the existing dearness allowance, the salary will increase by Rs 720 per month and Rs 8640 annually. At the same time, there will be an increase of Rs 2276 per month in the salary of employees with a basic salary of Rs 56900 per month. Means the salary will increase by Rs 27312 on annual basis.

DA will be 42 percent

Dearness Allowance (DA) for January 2023 is usually announced before Holi. If the dearness allowance is increased by 4 percent, then the cost of central employees will increase from the current 38 percent to 42 percent. After a four per cent increase in DA in September 2022, now central employees are waiting for an increase in dearness allowance in the new year.
