Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has declared that more than 200 cities will get access to 5G in the coming six months. Bharti Airtel has started the process of rolling out 5G services in around 8 cities, and the telecom company is doing a herculean task to make the service available for every indian by March 2024. On the other hand, Reliance Jio has also claimed to bring 5G service to every corner of India way before Airtel. The government has promised to provide 5G plans at an affordable price.

Among all these developments, Nunzio Mirtillo, Global telecom gearmaker Ericsson’s senior vice-president said that India would see one of the fastest 5G adoptions in the world. Ericsson also lessoned concern raised by telecom company operators in india about supply-chain constraints, due to the sudden closure of factories in China, which may impact India’s aggressive plans for the 5G roll-out.
