5G Auction: 5G Spectrum will be auctioned by the Government of India today. In this 5G Auction, a direct competition could be witnessed between Mukesh Ambani’s Jio and Sunil Mittal’s Airtel.
But the 5G Auction battle has become more interesting with the entry of Adani Data Network Limited, the company of Asia’s richest person Gautam Adani, in this auction.
Kumal Mangalam’s company Vodafone Idea (VI) is also a part of the 5G Auction. A big question that is arising with the Adani Group entering this auction is whether Gautam Adani is now eyeing the telecom sector as well.
The Adani Group has said that the company needs a private network for its airports and ports. That’s why the company is participating in this auction. The company has clarified that it does not currently have any plans to enter the consumer mobile space.
But despite this, there is a lot of buzz that Adani is investing in sectors where Ambani has already established a foothold. Ambani had entered the telecom sector 6 years ago. After which through Reliance Jio, he changed the picture of this entire sector.
