Rules To Change From August 1

July is almost over, and August 2024 is about to begin. In just two days, starting on August 1, several significant changes will take effect in the country, impacting everything from your kitchen to your wallet. These changes include new rules for LPG cylinders and credit cards. Here are five major changes to be aware of.

Oil marketing companies update LPG cylinder prices on the first of every month, with new prices being released at 6 am on August 1, 2024. Recently, there have been many changes in the prices of 19 kg commercial gas cylinders, but the price of 14 kg domestic gas cylinders has remained the same. On July 1, the price of commercial LPG cylinders was reduced by Rs 30 in Delhi. Therefore, people are hoping for a reduction in domestic cylinder prices this time.

On the first of every month, oil marketing companies not only update LPG cylinder prices but also revise the prices of aviation fuel (ATF) and CNG-PNG. New prices for these fuels may be announced on August 1, 2024. Notably, ATF prices were reduced in April.

Starting August 1, HDFC Bank, the largest private sector bank, will introduce changes for credit card users. A 1% fee will be applied to rent payments made through third-party apps like CRED, Paytm, Mobikwik, Freecharge, and others, with a transaction limit of Rs 3,000. For fuel transactions under Rs 15,000, no extra charge will apply, but transactions above Rs 15,000 will incur a 1% fee on the total amount.

Starting August 1, 2024, Google Maps will implement new rules across India. The world’s largest search engine announced it will reduce its Google Maps service charges in India by up to 70 percent. Additionally, Google will now accept payments for its map service in Indian Rupees instead of Dollars.

If you have bank-related tasks in August, check the bank holiday list issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) before heading out. According to the August Bank Holiday List, banks will be closed for 13 days throughout the month due to various occasions like Rakshabandhan, Janmashtami, and Independence Day.
