Yamaha’s Plans To Launch New Sports Bike Disclosed- Possible Honda CBR650R Competitor

Beyond Yamaha Honda has recently launched the CB and the fully faired CBR 600 r in the Indian market as well - More Details Ahead

As per recent news reports it has been brought forward that Yamaha might soon launch their new R7. The sport bike has been on sale in the international markets for some time but it would possibly be launched in the mid 2025 year.

This new entrant would possibly help the Indian super bike market gain a new faired sports bike. Beyond Yamaha Honda has recently launched the CB and the fully faired CBR 600 r in the Indian market as well. These bikes would go against each other in the Indian Market.

The design of the bike have been borrowed from bigger bikes such as the YSF R-9. The shape of the fairing as well as the overall design of the new bike would be quite similar to that of the superior bikes in the Yamaha clan.

The R7 would be powered by a 689cc, twin cylinder CP2 engine that makes 73 bhp @8750 rpm and a peak torque of around 67 NM @ 6500 rpm. The bike is mated to a six speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.

Suspension

Suspension duties would be handled by an adjustable KYB USD fork and a preload adjustable Monoshock. The bike would ride on a17 inch wheels and the braking duties of all that power would be handled by a twin discs setup at front as well as rear.

Honda CBR 650r

he bikes has similar looks to that of the CBR-1000 RR Fireblade. The bike gets the full fairing that is missing on the CB 650. The bike has very different styling than its predecessor that was sold in India before. The bike now has a more angular fairing along with an more sporty look.

CBR650R Performance Specs

Beyond the Yamaha R7 the sport bike segment already has a formidable competitor for the R7which is the CBR650R. The Bike is powered by a 649 cc liquid cooled inline four cylinder engine as the CBR650R. The Bike has a max power output of 85.8 bhp @ 12,000 rpm and 57 Nm at 8,500 rpm. The bike would be paired to a 6 -speed gearbox with a slipper clutch to help the rider while riding in traffic.

Other parts of the bike include 41 mm USD forks with a monoshock at the rear. The bike has similar braking credentials as that of the CB650. The bike has a dual channel ABS and Honda’s special torque control as well. The bike would have similar 5- inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity.
