2024 Yamaha TMAX 560: Known for its diverse scooter lineup across categories and engine sizes, Yamaha recently updated its flagship maxi-scooter, the TMAX560, in several international markets.
On February 29, Yamaha took the wraps off the 2024 TMAX 560 in the Japanese market. The sporty maxi scooter boasts a powerful engine and many features that rival some two-wheelers belonging to the same segment. Here are the top 5 things to know about the scooter:
2024 Yamaha TMAX 560: Top 5 things to know
1. Sporty design and look
First of all, the style is really sporty. At the front, the scooter features a big apron with sharp-lined front fascia and a set of carefully integrated projector headlights. You also get a tall, electrically adjustable windshield, which is an add on to the overall look of the scooter.
If you look at the sides, the proportions of the scooter are quite large. There is a huge central tunnel that flows seamlessly into the rear of the scooter. The placement of the tail light and indicators is well done, and overall, the TMAX 560’s supersport-inspired design is quite stylish.
2. Hardware details
Underneath the wide bodywork is a die-cast aluminium twin-spar frame with USD front forks and an adjustable suspension at the rear. The scooter has 15-inch alloy wheels that are wrapped in a 120-section tire at the front and a 160-section tire at the rear. The 267mm twin discs at the front and a 282mm disc at the rear manage the braking duties.
3. Engine specifications
A 562cc, liquid-cooled, four-valve, parallel-twin engine powers the 2024 Yamaha TMAX 560 scooter. The engine is capable of delivering 47bhp at 7,500rpm and 55.7Nm at 5250 rpm and is mated to a V-belt automatic transmission.
4. Feature-loaded scooter
The 2024 Yamaha TMAX 560 scooter is loaded with features. Check out its key features:
- Traction control
- Colour TFT display with Garmin navigation
- Cruise control
- Keyless ignition
- Keyless seat unlock
- Heated seats and grips
5. Will it be launched in India?
Last year, a test mule of the Yamaha TMAX 560 was spotted, sparking rumours that Yamaha might consider launching it in India. The scooter was seen uncovered and had temporary Karnataka state registration plates in red. However, the scooter in question could be a private import and not a test unit from the company.
But considering the fact that the Indian market has already witnessed the emergence of large max-scooters like the BMW C400GT, which costs more than Rs 11 lakh, TMAX 560 could someday come to our country.
Moreover, the BMW C400GT has done well in terms of sales despite the high price. However, the Yamaha TMAX would cost a lot more if launched in India. Currently, the large max-scooter segment in India also includes Keeway Sixties 300i and Vieste 300, priced around Rs 3.3 lakh (ex-showroom).
