Yamaha is all set to introduce two of its bikes, the Yamaha MT-03 and R3, on December 15. The MT-03 marks the arrival of a new model in the company’s lineup, while the R3 makes a comeback after being discontinued in 2020. Enthusiasts have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Yamaha MT-03, boasting a high-power 321 cc engine ideal for longer journeys, coupled with a substantial 14-liter fuel tank and a 6-speed manual transmission.
Price and Delivery Dates
Currently, Yamaha hasn’t disclosed the pricing details or the delivery timeline for these new models. However, speculation suggests deliveries may commence from January 2024, with the base model estimated at around Rs 3.50 lakh ex-showroom. The MT-03 will sport 17-inch tires, enhancing its overall aesthetics, and is designed with a split-seat layout for comfortable rides, featuring a seat height of 780 mm, suitable for riders of varying heights.
Competing Features
In the competitive market, the Yamaha MT-03 will rival other high-powered and stylish motorcycles like the QJ Motor SRK 400 and KTM 390 Duke. Equipped with all-LED lights, the bike will include a fully digital instrument cluster and a dual-channel anti-lock braking system. It’s designed with a simplistic handlebar along with speedometer, odometer, and tripmeter functionalities.

Revival of the R3
The Yamaha YZF-R3, discontinued due to new engine norms, housed a 321 cc engine. The upcoming version is anticipated to retain the same powertrain, promising a maximum mileage of 25 kmpl on roads. While retaining its 6-speed manual transmission, modifications are expected in the bike’s front aesthetics. The new model is set to debut with a bold and muscular appearance, appealing to bike enthusiasts looking for a powerful ride.
