New Delhi: Yamaha used to be quite popular among people at one time and was well-liked by the public. These bikes offered excellent performance, and there was a great craze for them among the people. Good news for Yamaha lovers is that they will soon have the opportunity to witness the company’s new Yamaha RX bike.
For a long time, Yamaha has distanced itself from the budget commuter bikes and scooters. The company has positioned itself as a premium 2-wheeler maker, and this has been their strategy for years. In the earlier years, Yamaha made a significant impact on the Indian commuter segment with its iconic Yamaha RX100 bike.
Yamaha returns with a 200cc+ engine
The iconic sound and explosive performance of the 2-stroke engine set it apart and challenged bikes like Royal Enfield, Hero Honda CD100, Suzuki Samurai, and Bajaj Boxer. Now, Yamaha is planning a comeback with its icon, this time with a 200cc+ engine, in the modern era.
Return of Yamaha RX100?
According to the Chairman of Yamaha India, the RX100 will make a comeback, but currently, there are no plans to launch it until 2026. Considering the BS6 Phase 2 emission norms and upcoming norms, the 2-stroke engine will never compromise on its explosive performance, and a 100cc 4-stroke engine will never match the original RX100’s explosive performance.
If it is a 200cc+ bike, launching any bike with the RX badge would make it similar to the light and high-performance bike of the original RX100. There is a possibility that it could come with a 250cc or 350cc engine as well.
