While there were possibilities of the new R7 launching in India, Yamaha R300 has been patented in India as well. The documents that have been leaked showcase the patent. Its possible that the bike might be launched through the CBU import route in India.
The Bike would have new design that would be inspired by the sharp lines and design of the bikes higher up in Yamaha Clan. These include the R6 as well as the R9. new R3 would have sharper lines and a completely new front fascia.
New Changes
Beyond the other cosmetic changes the bike would have a addition of new Up Side Down forks. The design patents have further revealed that the new bike would be equipped with a LCD instrument cluster similar to the YZF-R15 V3.
The model that had been launched in the US recently, has been priced at USD 5,499. This would roughly translate to Rs 4.62 lakh.
Engine Specs
The Engine of the bike would be the same 321 cc DOHC 4V- parallel twin liquid cooled engine that is capable of developing 41 bhp. The R7 would have a peak torque 30 NM. The Transmission would be mated to a slip and assist clutch along with a 6 speed gearbox.
Some of the other standout features would include a Y connect app support, and 17 inch alloy wheels. To keep the bike ready for the track duty it would have a 50: 50 weight distribution to keep the bike well balanced while cornering and riding. Beyond that the free revving engine as well as the sporty clip on handlebars are the key attributes that give the bike its quintessential sporty appeal.
What would The New Design Bring
The new front fascia of the bike would get quad LED DRL signature headlamp. The bike would have a single projector headlamp in the middle that would allow the bike to have a quintessential look that it is known for.
