New Delhi: There is a fashion in the country to write various poetry and slogans on the back of trucks. Which are very funny. The most popular of these is Horn Ok Please, which can be seen written on the back of most of the trucks. This line is so famous that a Bollywood film was also made on it a few years back. Although according to the rules it is not necessary to write this, nor does it have any meaning, but still it is definitely written behind most of the trucks. Most of you would not know the reason behind this, so today we will tell you what is the reason for writing horn OK please behind the truck.

What it means?

The meaning of ‘Horn OK Please’ is to inform by giving horn before overtaking the vehicle. That is, truck drivers ask the vehicles running behind to blow the horn to overtake. In olden times, side mirrors were not available in many trucks, due to which the drivers had to write it for the information of the vehicles running behind, so that they could give side to the vehicle coming from behind.

Reason for writing ‘ok’

There are many reasons for writing ‘OK’ in the middle of this line, one of which is that during World War II there was a huge shortage of diesel all over the world. During this, containers filled with kerosene were kept in trucks, which is very flammable. These trucks used to catch fire rapidly at the time of accident, so ‘On Kerosene’ was written to tell the vehicles behind to keep proper distance, which gradually came to be called ok.

This is also the reason

In the olden days, most of the roads used to be narrow, due to which there was a high risk of accident at the time of overtaking. Larger trucks were not shown by vehicles behind, so there was a bulb above the word OK, which the truck driver lit to signal the vehicle behind to pass. This facilitated overtaking the vehicles behind.
