But before that a new Golf Gti has been spotted in India. The car was seen bereft of any camouflage and out and about possibly on test run.

The spy shot that has been doing rounds over the internet and has been published by ZigWheels was taken from the side profile. The car would have 5 spoke alloy wheels and a new sporty, it would also be equipped with red calipers. The car has A GTI badging near the front door, and thanks to the sporty outlook of the vehicle it sits on lowered and stiffer suspension. The rear lights would have 3D tail lights and a roof mounted spoiler.
Interior Features
As per the features that have been visible on the international variant the car would have a large 12.9 inch touch screen infotainment system. Beyond that the GTI hatchback also has a GTI Specific Digital Instrument cluster and red interior inserts as well.
Since this is the sportier version often regarded as the go to choice for enthusiasts the optional extras that are available for this variant are a little different in the international market. What kind of features Volkswagen offers for it might soon be revealed as well. The Indian spec variant might not be offered with an extensive choice in optional extras. Multizone climate control, wireless Android Auto, Apple Car Play and Ventilated seats would be some of the features that the car would be equipped with.
Powertrain
The car would be equipped with a 2 liter Turbo Petrol engine that produces 265 PS of power along with 370 NM of peak torque. The transmission mated to the engine would be a 7 speed dual clutch automatic. The GTI being the performance version of the hatchback is known for a stiffer suspension setup, so getting around your local potholes might be a headache, if you are lucky enough to get the vehicle.
