Gloomy days don’t seem to be getting over for the Volkswagen group any time soon , as after a tax fraud claim being imparted by the Indian government, another new issue seemed to have grasped the brand. In the recent news, the brand has issued a recall due to a display issue that may result in the car showing wrong gear position while driving. The list of affected models include 2021-2023 Volkswagen ID.4, the 2022- 23 Audi Q4 ETron, and the 2022-2023 Audi Q4 ETron sport back.
As per the detailed reports on the malfunction this issue can prevent the vehicle from applying brakes when its in parking mode. This could be a major concern as it can lead to an accident. The Issue has been violating the Federal Motor Vehicle safety standard no. 102 as has been outlined by the NHSTA.
To ensure the safety of the drivers who have been using the affected vehicles Volkswagen has been advising users to engage the parking brake when existing their cars. This has been done to ensure safety until the car is recalled and fixed by the brand.
To fix the issue, Volkswagen group families have been planning to provide the users with a new brake control software update to the affected vehicles. Owners of the affected cars would be notified by mail with notification letters scheduled to be sent out by April 2025. The recall has been a part of the company’s effort to maintain safety standards and ensure safety of the users on the road.
February Recall By VW : Rearview Camera Issue
Beyond the other issues Volkswagen had issued another recall last month of around 32,000 vehicles due to Two primary concerns. A potential rear view Camera Malfunction and a risk of overheating electric vehicle batteries. The rearview camera recall affected 29,569 vehicles these included Volkswagen Tiguan SUV’s, A Volkswagen Arteons Sedans and the 2024-2025 Audi Q3 SUV’s. The rear view camera would fail to switch on while starting the car. Beyond all of these recalls Volkswagen is recalling 2,616 of 1st 2023 Audi Q5 Phev Hybrid SUV Due to a defect in the high voltage battery cell modules.
