Volkswagen seems to be in the pursuit to expand their lineup in the Indian market. The company has confirmed the launch of new cars and another CBU import in India after the Golf GtI. Here are all the details about the vehicles that would be launched in India soon.
Volkswagen Tiguan R
The Indian launch of the Volkswagen Tiguan R has been confirmed by Volkswagen. The faster version of the Tiguan has not been released in the international markets yet, but its entry into the Indian market has been confirmed by a news Report of AutoCar. The car is most likely to be powered by a 2.0 litre Turbo petrol engine that gives out a peak power output of 250hp. The car just like the Golf would be brought in as a CBU import and hence it would be expensive and cost around 60 lakh RS.
Volkswagen Taigun Facelift
Considering the heavy competition in the Indian Sub 4 meter compact SUV market, Volkswagen has decided to provide Taigun with a fresh new look for the new year. The car would be powered by the same engine but would come with new cosmetic changes such as a new grill, headlamps and a front bumper. Beyond that the car might also get a host of new safety features such as ADAS level 2 collision warning systems and collision avoidance system as well. Its also possible that Volkswagen might add a Panoramic Sun Roof to certain variants of Taigun as well. Being powered by the same engine the car would have a 1.5 liter Turbocharged petrol on offer as well a s a 1.0 Liter Turbocharged engine.
Volkswagen Golf GTI
The Golf GTI car would be brought to Indian shores in limited numbers at first and would have an expected price tag of around 40 Lakh Rs. The car would be powered by a 2.0 Litre Four cylinder Turbo engine that churns out the max output of around 265 BHP with a peak torque output of around 370 Nm. In the global market the engine is partnered with a 7 speed DCT gearbox that powers the front wheels.
The car would be in a segment of its own , considering the limited numbers in which the car would be imported. As of yet its believed that the car would be priced around 40 lakh Rs. It would compete against the likes of Mini Cooper S, as well as the Octavia RS if Skoda plans to unveil it in January.
Volkswagen Tayron
The Tayron would replace the Tiguan in the Indian market. Volkswagen is expected to launch the vehicle by june or August. The car is as of yet likely to arrive with a 2.0 litre Petrol Engine. The Tayron is supposedly longer than the older outgoing variant and is roomier than any of the models that have previously been in the Volkswagen line up. The car would have a price tag of around 40 lakh Rs and would probably be manufactured and assembled in India.
Volkswagen ID.4
While Volkswagen had quashed their plans to bring the new ID.4 in India earlier it seems that the brand might launch the vehicle soon at the Bharat Mobility Expo.
The ID.4 could be Volkswagen’s first electric vehicle in India, and it could be the most expensive Volkswagen currently on sale in India. The Car is built on the MEB platform and is globally available with a 52KWH as well as a 77KWH Battery pack. The car offers around 340km to 500 km range on a single charge.
