Volkswagen has finally launched the all new Golf Gti MK 8.5 in India at Rs 53 lakh Ex showroom. The price tag is courtesy of the fact that the car would be a CBU import brought to India in limited numbers. The Golf GTI would be the second model after the Polo GTI that was launched earlier. The First batch of 150 units that were brought to India were already booked and it has been projected that a second batch might be brought to India soon.
Engine Under The Hood
Volkswagen Golf GTI would be powered by a 2.0 liter, Four Cylinder Turbo Engine that is capable of producing 265 HP and 370Nm of torque. The Engine already does duty in the Volkswagen Tiguan R Line. The TSI motor would be mated to a dual Clutch Automatic transmission that sends power to the front wheels. The Hot hatch also gets a electronically controlled front axle that improves the grip in corners.

GTI Interior and Features
The Interior of the car would be equipped with a new sporty seats with fixed headrests and signature tartan interest in the center. Beyond that the car would have a leather wrapped steering wheel with red GTI clasp. The car would further be equipped with a dual screen setup that includes a 12.9 inch touchscreen as well as a 10.25 inch digital instrument cluster. Beyond these the car would be equipped with a Climate Control Setup and paddle shifters.

On the safety front the car would have a 7 air bags ISOFIX anchors and ADAS with lane changing assist. The Golf GTI fascia sports a Honeycomb grille, with some red accents and GTI badges. The Bumper gets the iconic five- piece LED light units and the logo in the center would also get an illumination function as well. Its possible witnessing the high demand for the bespoke 150 units that were brought to India that a second batch for Volkswagen Golf GTI might be brought in as well.
