Amid the challenges of recalls and tax issues, Volkswagen still seems to be continuing to keep the enthusiasts happy. The brand has finalized the two models that will be making it to India soon. The models would involve Tiguan R -Line and the iconic Golf Gti. While there had been regular inputs of the launch of the new Golf Gti, the addition of the Tiguan R -line has been reported recently.
The R-line would be the top-of-the-line variant of the Tiguan, The SUV has a range of new design features that make it appear for sporty and aggressive than the basic model. The bumper, front fascia, and the large vents that run across the black fascia all give the car a standout look. Beyond the other cosmetic changes, the car would also have 19 -inch alloy wheels as well.
The Tiguan R line gets sports seats, 3-spoke steering wheel and a 10.3 inch digital instrument cluster as well.
Tiguan R Engine Options
The Tiguan R line comes with a range of powertrain options, these include a 1.5-litre petrol mild Hybrid, a 1.5 Litre Plug -In Hybrid, A 2.0 litre Petrol and a 2.0 litre Diesel. In India VW would like offer the 2.0 litre petrol engine paired with that of a 7 speed DSG- and 4 Motion All Wheel Drive System.
The Golf Gti on the other hand is a performance oriented hatchback, its powered by a 2.0 litre 4 cylinder Turbo petrol engine that makes 261 BHP and a peak torque of 370 NM. The car would be offered with a 7 speed dual clutch automatic gearbox.

The Golf moniker has a veritable history attached to it. Over the years the vehicle has been the go- to choice for many enthusiasts who seek a sporty hatchback. The first iteration of the of moniker was launched in the year 1974, it has been marketed worldwide across eight generations.
Over the years the car has been through a range of different updates, the Original car the Golf Mk1 was a front-engine, front-wheel drive replacement for the air-cooled rear-engine beetle. Golf has marked its presence worldwide by being one of the worlds top three best-selling models worldwide. Until 2019 Volkswagen had reported to have sold 35 million units.
