Renewing the ‘Make in India’ Spirit: VinFast’s Bold Move

VinFast, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the state government, initiating the construction of a sprawling 400-acre electric vehicle plant within the industrial estate of Tamil Nadu’s State Industries Promotion Corporation (SIPCOT). The ceremony witnessed the presence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and Industry Minister Dr. T.R.B. Rajaa, along with other senior government officials.

With a claimed investment of nearly $500 million over the next five years, VinFast’s plant is anticipated to generate approximately 3,500 job opportunities, boosting the local economy and establishing the company as a significant player in the electric vehicle industry.

The plant’s expected annual production capacity is 150,000 vehicles, contributing significantly to the Indian EV market. VinFast aims to strengthen the ‘Make in India’ initiative, emphasizing local manufacturing and fostering economic development in the region.
