Vehicle Sale: There has been a slight decline in retail sales of passenger vehicles in April 2023. According to latest figures issued by Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) total retail sales of passenger vehicles in April 2022 stood at 2,86,539 units. While in April 2023 it stood at 2,82,674 units.
Changes due to new rules
Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) President Manish Raj Singhania said, “The passenger vehicle segment, which achieved record sales in FY23, slowed down in April. He said that this is mainly due to last year’s high base and OBD 2A (OBD 2A) norms.

According to the FADA president, there was an increase in the price of the vehicle and advance purchase in March. Two-wheeler registrations declined by 7 per cent to 12,29,911 units in April, as against 13,26,773 units in the year-ago period.

Demand remains weak
The chairman further said that the decline in sales can be attributed to OBD 2A shift, unseasonal rains and limited supply due to pre-buying in March. He added that demand in the two-wheeler motorcycle segment continues to be weak.
