New Delhi: The number of electric cars is increasing rapidly. On Friday, Mercedes Benz India has introduced its fourth model EQB in the electric car segment. Including the EQB car, there are more than 10 models in the luxury electric car space.
Out of these, you can choose any one as per your wish and requirement. There are many cars in the electric segment in the market. These cars have been introduced by Tata Motors, MG to Hyundai, Kia and Mahindra companies.
Next year, there will be many models of cars for customers to choose from in the electric segment. Barring the Japanese carmaker company, most of the carmaker companies present in today’s era have at least one electric car model. In fact, Japanese carmakers are giving more emphasis on making company hybrid cars. Here is a list of electric cars to be seen in 2023.
Hyundai launched its first electric car Kona EV in July 2019. Now the Korean carmaker company will soon launch another new electric car Ioniq 5 in the market. Booking of the company’s new car will start from December 20 and Hyundai will present its new car at the Auto Expo event to be held in January 2023.
The sale of another sister model Kia EV6, the company’s first electric car, continues in India. The price of this car starts from Rs.60 lakhs. At the same time, Hyundai’s new electric car Ioniq 5 will be very affordable. Because the company is preparing this car in the country itself. While Kia’s EV6 is fully imported and the Kia EV6 has to pay a heavy import duty charge.
The first electric car from French carmaker Citroën will be very similar to the recently launched C3 small SUV. Citroën is expected to make India an export base for electric cars.
Kia’s electric car Kia EV6 will probably be offered as a Completely Locked Down Kit (CKD Kit). Currently, it is imported as a Completely Build-Up (CBU) unit to save on import duty. But after 2025, Hyundai and sister car maker Kia will start full local manufacturing of at least one electric car mode.
After 2024, Mahindra will start rolling out its entire range of electric cars on the roads. Earlier this year, the company unveiled the 5 concept electric SUV. Mahindra will position them in two EV brands – XUV and BE. But in January 2023, the carmaker company Mahindra will announce the price of these cars and will start delivering the XUV400 electric car based on the XUV300 SUV to the customers.
MG Motor is already selling its MG ZS EV. In the beginning of 2023, the carmaker company will introduce another model (Air EV). According to the information, this new car of the company will be the smallest electric car in India. It is expected that the MG Air EV will influence the demand for the Tata Tiago EV.
Earlier this year, the Czech carmaker tested the Enyaq electric SUV on Indian roads. The company will launch its new car in 2023.
Tata Motors will launch its ‘Born Electric’ car after 2024. The company showcased the Curvv Concept EV and the AVINYA Concept Car earlier this year. At present, the company is engaged in preparing the already existing engine in many of its cars for the electric car. Tata Motors Company is already selling its Nexon EV, Tigor EV and Tiago EV cars in the electric segment. According to sources, in 2023, it will launch its Altroz EV and Punch EV.
