Upcoming Car Launches In May 2024: India's auto market heats up in May with several exciting launches. Maruti Suzuki's next-gen Swift, the rugged Force Gurkha, sporty Tata Altroz Racer, and eco-friendly Nexon iCNG are all set to arrive. Luxury car enthusiasts can look forward to the powerful new Porsche Panamera.

Upcoming Car Launches In May 2024: The automotive industry in India has been abuzz with the first four months of 2024 witnessing several new car launches. The most recent car launches in April include the Mahindra XUV 3XO, Toyota Taisor, 2024 Jeep Wrangler, Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus, and 2024 Aston Martin Vantage. The automakers will continue to have a field day as they prepare for the upcoming cars and SUV launches in May 2024. Let’s have a look at the vehicles arriving this month:

Upcoming Car Launches In May 2024

Maruti Suzuki Swift

Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the next-gen Swift, bookings for which have commenced already with a token amount of Rs 11,000. The fourth-generation hatchback will receive significant upgrades while retaining its original silhouette. Powering the upcoming Swift will be the new Z-Series 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine, which has already made its debut overseas. The prices of the the upcoming Swift are expected to range between Rs 6 lakh and Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom), with its launch taking place in May.

Force Gurkha

The Force Gurkha recently debuted for 2024 model year with both 3-door and 5-door guises. It is set to be launched in the first week of May, while bookings have already commenced and you can reserve it with a token amount of Rs 25,000. The updated SUV features significant cosmetic changes on the exterior along with several creature comforts. It is equipped with an updated 2.6-litre diesel engine that belts out 138bhp of maximum power and 320 Nm of peak torque. The Mahindra Thar rival is expected to be priced between Rs 17 lakh and Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). 

Tata Altroz Racer

First unveiled at the Auto expo 2023, the Tata Altroz Racer is likely to arrive in this month. A dual-tone paint scheme, contrasting accents inside, and an updated grille give a distinctive appearance to the car. Under the hood, the Altroz Racer will feature a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine, that churns out 118bhp of max power and 170Nm of peak torque. The car is expected to have a premium price tag.

Tata Nexon iCNG

Previewed at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024, the Tata Nexon iCNG will be launched in May. Designwise, it will retain the original look of the Tata Nexon petrol model. It is likely to come with dual-cylinder technology found on other Tata iCNG vehicles. The technical specifications of the car have not been revealed yet.  

Porsche Panamera

Set to be launched in India on May 4, the new Porsche Panamera was listed on the brand’s official website along with the starting price in November 2023. The updated car will receive significant design updates with a few tweaks to its fascia. Powering the Panamera is a  2.9-litre V6 turbo-petrol engine connected to an 8-speed PDK and generating 349bhp of maximum power and 500Nm of peak torque. The Panamera is capable of reaching a top speed of 272 kmph and can do a 0-100 kmph sprint in just 5.1 seconds. This powerful beast is quite expensive with a starting price of Rs 1.68 crore (ex-showroom).
