Ina recent update it has been revealed that Uk made vehicles imported into the Us will be hot with reduced Tariff rate of 10% only. Although this condition would continue only for the first 100,000 cars. The new precedent ahs been achieved after more than a month of negotiations between British and American officials.
The details of the new negotiation are currently sparse, But Us has confirmed that the 10% tariff would apply to only the first 100,000 cars. This suggested that anything over that number would be hit by the higher 25% tariff rate.
Last Years Numbers
Last year the UK sent close to 102,000 cars to the US. The Us has been Uk’s second largest export market, behind the Eu. The Market had received about 27% of all Uk made vehicles in 2024 accounting for some 9 billion a year. Uk is the first country to have reached such and a arrangement with America, as per American officials China would be the next nation to go through such negotiations.
Announcing the new deal from the Whitehouse Trump retorted that “I’m thrilled to announce a breakthrough trade deal. The agreement with one our closest and most cherished allies.
“Final details are being written up and will be detailed in the coming weeks.”
On Tuesday Donald Trump had praised our nation for dropping the tariffs to nothing. He Offered no further details on the sectors or goods affected by the supposed agreement. India has not made any official statements in this regard rather trade talks with the Us remain underway.
A conditional Proposal
Sources familiar with the ongoing negotiations told Bloomberg that India ahs proposed a Zero-for-Zero tariff arrangement on specific goods such as steel , Auto Parts, and Pharmaceuticals but with a cap on import values and based on mutual reciprocity.
