Triumph is all set to launch their all new Triumph Thruxton, the bike would be based on Triumph Speed 400 chassis and engine. But, Triumph has ensured that the overall looks would pay special homage to the café racer style look by providing the bike with fairings that would extend till the tank. The bike has been spotted testing a few times and it seems that Triumph has made changes to the sitting triangle of the bike.
The Thruxton’s sitting position is much more aggressive and would provide the users to sit in closer to the tank to reduce the air drag while chasing high speeds. But since the bike would be based on the speed 400 there are concerns that it might carry over some of the issues that were prevalent with the speed 400.
Triumph Thruxton To Follow 400’s Footsteps
A previous review of the Triumph Speed, had revealed several issues that were pretty prevalent with the bike. While Reviewing the Bike Jim Moore from Motorcycle News wrote that the bike felt snatchy at low RPM’S. When he took the bike to A-road dual carriageways in England it showcased excessive vibrations. The reviewer further felt that the gear ratios of the bike were not optimized properly and when he tried to ride it constantly at 70Mph the bike seemed to struggle in seeking another gear ratio. The reviewer further revealed that a better gearing setup could have helped the brakes get a much smoother highway performance.
Would The Triumph Thruxton Continue With The Same Problems’
Triumph Thruxton gives the manufacturer a clean slate to work on a completely new bike. And hence its possible that Triumph might work on these issues. Its possible that the bike might be given a new state of performance tune along with changes in gearing as well. The Bike would have it work cut out for it as it would have to go against a great variety of Royal Enfield’s such as the Guerilla, The Continental Gt and Several others.
