Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor vs Maruti Suzuki Fronx: Toyota Kirloskar Motor entered the sub-4 metre crossover/SUV market with the launch of the new Urban Cruiser Taisor at a starting price of Rs 7.74 lakh (ex-showroom). Based on the Fronx, the Taisor is the fourth rebadged product from Toyota to be based on a Maruti Suzuki model. The engine department remains the same. Both cars are powered by a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated engine churning out 88.5bhp of maximum power and 113Nm of peak torque.

There is another engine option – the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol power plant making 99bhp of maximum power and 147.6Nm of torque. The three transmission options include automatic, manual, and torque converter. However, there are a few differences between the two cars. Let’s explore:

Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor vs Maruti Suzuki Fronx: Design

While dimensions remain the same, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor gets some unique elements in terms of design. The biggest difference lies in the front fascia. It gets a trapezoidal shape with a new honeycomb pattern instead of the hexagonal grille design seen on the Fronx. Furthermore, the exterior is darker and uses minimal chrome.

Additionally, it has LED daytime running lights modified to a dual-line style, just like those on the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Even more, Toyota has modified the bumper design to house the new grille, thereby resulting in a wider front air dam.

As far as the side profile is concerned, nothing has been changed much except for the wheels. The Taisor rolls on 16-inch wheels with a cleaner and different design. The only significant modification the car has received at the rear is the new signature LED taillights. Other rear design elements remain the same.

Colour Options

The new Urban Cruiser Taisor is available in five colour options: Gaming Grey, Cafe White, Lucent Orange, Sportin Red and Enticing Silver. The colour options for the Fronx, on the other hand, include Nexa Blue, Arctic White, Splendid Silver, Grandeur Grey, Earthen Brown, Opulent Red, and Bluish Black. The turbocharged models of both SUVs also get dual-tone options.

Interior Layout and Features

There should be no surprise that both cars get the same interior and features with the top models offering climate control with rear vents, an infotainment system with a touchscreen, phone mirroring, connected car technology with smartwatch connectivity, a head-up display (HUD), an LED light package, a 360-degree camera, powered windows and mirrors, driver’s seat height adjustment, and electric sunroof.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor vs Maruti Suzuki Fronx: Price

With the 1.2-litre engine, there is a price difference of up to Rs 25,000. And if you opt for the 1.0-litre turbo model, there is a difference of just Rs 1000.

  • Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor: Rs 7.74 Lakh – Rs 13.04 Lakh (Ex-showroom)
  • Maruti Suzuki Fronx: Rs 7.51 Lakh – Rs 13.03 Lakh (Ex-showroom)

A Shift Towards BJP's Aggressive Hindutva Amid Opposition's Leadership Crisis

The Maharashtra election may further push the Congress down as it has lost the election at a time when it needed a win most desperately. Though the Congress succeeded in pushing the BJP to a corner and stopping it at less than a majority on its own, it failed to make any headway further.
