Toyota has shared its plan to unveil a new EV on march 11. As per a few reports that have been published online the new launch is expected to be the production version of the Bz4X compact crossover concept from 2022. Globally this would be the the SUV that would sit between the likes of larger bZ4X and the newly launched Urban cruiser.
Toyota had shared profound plans to expand their line up by at least six EV’s by the end of the year 2026. The manufacturer would be launching new production version of their cars that would go against the likes of Volkswagen ID-7 rivalling sport crossover concept. The Vehicle would be launched in UK first on 11th March.
Toyota has kept the secret under wrap only showcasing a single silhouette image as well as a teaser video of the possible new launch. The production spec of the vehicle will keep several design facets of the new car unchanged from what was shown in the concept vehicle. The car would keep its raked roofline and extended hood with significant overhangs that further improve the appearance of the vehicle.
Just like a few of the other cars in the EV sector the car would also have a lightbar that ruins along the breadth of the rear fascia of the car.
New Specs
Just like the smaller SUV EV the Urban Cruiser the new EV would be sold with a range of battery sizes and motor set up’s. It’s also possible that the vehicle might be launched with a new AWD setup as well. The AWD setup would mean that there would be a battery that would power both the axles and churn out a combined power of around 181 hp and a peak torque figure of 221 Lb/ft of torque. This would be paired to a 61 KWH battery for a range of 240 miles. Both the versions would be able to charge at a speed of 150 KW.
BZ4X launch In India
Toyota has shared no plans to launch the vehicle in India As of yet. The brand would launch their EV version of the E Vitara first. Beyond that its possible that the next launch would that be of a bigger EV SUV that would possibly be the Toyota Bz4x. When Launched in India the car would go against the likes of Mahindra Xev9e and the Audi Q8 Etron and other luxury vehicles.
