Toyota has revealed plans to gradually move towards a possible full return to F1. The recent communion of Toyota as well as Haas has led to a confirmation that Toyota might be planning to return to F1.
The deal was announced in October, At that time the company had reported of no intentions to manufacture a power unit or become a part of the F1 world again. However ahead of the new season there have been news reports of how the company might be considering a Re-entry into the F1 dynamic.
The brand had walked away from F1 in 2009. The communion with Haas has been through first foray of the brand back into the F1 world. This signifies the potential for further involvement in the sport.
“We are, of course, studying the technologies for 2026 and even current technologies,” Kaji told Motorsport.com. “I feel we’re gradually moving in that direction.”
While the Internet has run amok with the rumor’s, it would be safe to say that no formal plans have been formalized for the return of the brand into F1. As of yet no resources of the brand would be redirected towards the Nascent intention of getting involved in F1 again.
“We’re not at a stage where we would redirect all our resources there [to a full F1 return],” Kaji explained. “What happens after 2030 is still uncertain. We’re working on various new technologies, so whether our vector aligns with F1 remains to be seen.”
The partnership between Haas and Toyota has been a pathway for young drivers to pave their way into F1.
Initiation of a New Power Units Company for Cadillac F1
GM performance units have showcased interest in becoming a contributor to help Cadillac become a full works team by the end of the decade.
Russ O’ Blenes the director of propulsion and performance team has had more than 30 years of moto racing experience. Gm have stated that the development and testing of the new engine technology is underway. Beyond that the brand also has plans to open dedicated facility for performance power units.
Prior to using their own power units Cadillac has decided to initiate an agreement with Scuderia Ferrari. This would result in the Scuderia Ferrari supplying the team with their engines and gearboxes starting in 2026.
