New Delhi: Toyota Kirloskar Motor and Maruti Suzuki are all set to launch a new hybrid MPV in 2023. The Japanese automaker has confirmed that the new Toyota Innova Hycross will make its global debut on November 21 and then be unveiled in India on November 25, 2022.

Official bookings for this model will make its debut in India, with its pricing revealed in January 2023. Maruti Suzuki will bring its first rebadged Toyota model based on the Innova Hycross sometime next year.

Specifications

Both models will share the platform, design elements, features and powertrain. The Toyota Innova Hycross, which is essentially a new generation version of the Innova Crysta, will come with a FWD monocoque. One of the major updates will come in the form of a powerful hybrid powertrain. Reports suggest that the new 2023 Toyota Innova Hycross will come with a 2.0L naturally aspirated petrol and a 2.0L petrol with a powerful hybrid system.

The new Innova Hycross will be the first Toyota model in India to be equipped with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System). It will be equipped with Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) system offering safety features such as lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, pre-collision system with pedestrian detection and dynamic radar cruise control.

It will also be the brand’s first car with a factory-fitted double-glazed panoramic sunroof. Both the above features are likely to be offered on Maruti’s upcoming new MPV.

Toyota and Maruti’s new three-row MPV will also come with a new dashboard, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, 360° camera and an ottoman feature for the captain’s seats.

Features

Some of the design features will include a new hexagonal grille with black inserts, redesigned front bumper with wide air intakes, updated headlights with LED DRLs, newly designed alloy wheels, black trimmed B and C pillars, body colored door handles, trim above the wheel arches , LED rear lights and a redesigned rear bumper. Maruti’s upcoming new MPV might get a few cosmetic changes to differentiate it from the Toyota Innova Hycross.
