Toyota Land Cruiser 300: What’s new?
The Land Cruiser 300 is the first all-new Land Cruiser in 14 years. Toyota has reworked it extensively, but it doesn’t stray too far from the outgoing Land Cruiser 200. Key changes include a new and large radiator grille, squared-off wheel arches and a prominent bend in the A- and D-pillars.
The changes are more extensive inside, the Land Cruiser 300 gets a completely new dashboard design. It is well equipped with features like head-up display, premium sound system, ionizer and even a fingerprint authentication system.
For the new generation of its iconic SUV, Toyota has adopted the new GA-F platform, which is based on the TNGA. However, it retained the body-on-frame structure that was the Land Cruiser’s key selling point.
Engine
The Land Cruiser in India has only one engine – a 3.3-litre V6 turbodiesel mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Internationally, the Land Cruiser is also available with a V6 gasoline mill.

Toyota Innova Hycross: The first Innova with monocoque construction
Toyota recently launched the Innova Hycross in the price range of Rs 18.30-28.97 lakh. While previous iterations of the Innova were based on ladder frame construction, the Hycross is based on a monocoque layout.
Toyota has also ditched the diesel in favor of a potent hybrid, which the automaker says can deliver a fuel economy figure of 23.24 kpl. The 2.0-liter hybrid delivers a combined 186 horsepower and is paired with an e-drive transmission.
In addition, Toyota also offers a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 172bhp and 205Nm and is mated to a CVT gearbox.
Features
The new Hycross carries a more SUV-like design, especially at the front, with a large and upright grille and a high hood line. Speaking of dimensions, the Hycross is slightly longer and wider than the Crysta and has a 100mm longer wheelbase.
Inside, the Hycross features a multi-layer dashboard with a 10.1-inch screen taking center stage. It comes in five variants, with the higher ones getting equipment such as ventilated seats, paddle shifters, memory function for the driver’s seats and ADAS.
This is the first time that Toyota has showcased the lower variants of the Innova Hycross. The automaker also exhibited variants with a naturally aspirated gasoline engine.
