New Delhi: Toyota has officially launched the new Innova Hycross for the Indian market. The company will start accepting pre-orders for the new MPV on November 25. Pricing for the new Toyota Innova Hycross is expected to be announced at the 2023 Auto Expo and deliveries are likely to start in the second half of January.

Before India, the new Innova will debut in Indonesia on November 21, where it will be called the new Innova Zenix. The new Toyota Innova Hycross will come with all-new styling with several SUV-like design cues. In fact, the new model could be branded as a crossover MPV in India. It comes with a distinctive SUV-like front fascia that seems to be inspired by global Toyota models including the Corolla Cross.

The front fascia features a larger and upright hexagonal grille, a new headlight arrangement with two L-shaped inserts hiding the main unit, prominent hood creases and an aggressive bumper with triangular fog lamp housings. It comes with large wheel arches and bold character lines across the side panel.

Spy shots suggest that the rear profile of the new Hycross will be inspired by the MPV Avanza on sale in South Asian markets. It will have horizontally oriented taillights with LED brake lights and new 10-spoke alloys.

The new Toyota Innova Hycross will be completely different from the current Crysta. It is designed and developed on the global TNGA-C platform, which is the basis of the Corolla Cross. It is a front-wheel drive monocoque platform, while the current Crysta is based on a RWD ladder frame chassis. The new model is likely to measure around 4.7 meters in length and is likely to offer a wheelbase of 2850 mm. The wheelbase is roughly 100mm longer than the current model and should translate into more cabin space.

Toyota Indonesia has already teased the interior of the new Innova, which reveals many of the first features. The new model comes with a large dual-pane panoramic sunroof, side air-conditioning vents on the roof and ambient lighting.

For the entertainment of the rear seat passengers, the new Innova Hycross will be equipped with rear monitors on the front seats. It is likely to come with features such as power tailgate, captain’s seats with ottoman function, electronic parking brake and a 360° camera.

In addition, the new Toyota Innova Hycross will also get Toyota’s Safety Sense, which is ADAS technology. It will offer features such as a pre-collision system, dynamic radar cruise control, lane keeping assistant and automatic high beams.

The new Hycross will not be offered with a diesel engine option, assuming the current Innova Crysta will be sold alongside the current model. The new model will be powered by a 2.0-liter TNGA engine with powerful hybrid technology. In addition, the MPV will also get a 2.0L NA petrol engine.

A Shift Towards BJP's Aggressive Hindutva Amid Opposition's Leadership Crisis

The Maharashtra election may further push the Congress down as it has lost the election at a time when it needed a win most desperately. Though the Congress succeeded in pushing the BJP to a corner and stopping it at less than a majority on its own, it failed to make any headway further.
