New Delhi: The new Toyota Innova Hycross is set to be launched in India on November 25 and will go on sale next year. While many details remain under wraps, test mules have offered glimpses of how the MPV will look and feel. It will be a major upgrade with a new platform and engine option.
The Innova Hycross is to be positioned as a capable family vehicle with plenty of safety and comfort features.
While the MPV’s front fascia was previously revealed, the company’s latest teaser confirms the inclusion of a panoramic sunroof. Other details are also visible, such as ambient lighting near the sunroof panels. Manual IRVM, rear AC vents parallel to the sunroof panels and dedicated screens for the second row passengers will be standard on the new Innova Hycross.

The Toyota Innova Hycross will be equipped with a redesigned multi-layer dashboard, a distinctive center console and a large floating touchscreen. It could have a two-tone interior theme like the recently released Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.
For a more premium look and feel, silver accents are expected on the dashboard and A/C vents. Other notable features include a dash-mounted shifter console, a 360-degree camera, middle-row captain’s seats with ottoman functionality, and wireless charging. A dash camera could also be included, probably on top models.
A brand new 2.0 liter engine could be used to power the Innova Hycross. Powertrain options will consist of naturally aspirated gasoline and a potent hybrid setup.
Other significant changes for the Innova Hycross will include a monocoque chassis rather than a ladder frame and front-wheel drive rather than rear-wheel drive. The Innova has always been known for its reliable performance, so it will be interesting to see how this new version fares.
