Internationally called the Kijang Innova BEV concept, the Fully – electric version of the MPV recently took the podium at the Indonesia International Motor Show.
What’s Different And Unique
The car seems similar to that of the normal Innova. But the only distinguishing feature would be the BEV emblem that has been displayed on the car. Beyond that the sealed of nose at the front is another tell tale sign of the EV conversion that the car has been through.
The layout is quite similar to that of the Innova but the vehicle would be able to offer its users high mileage and help them save money one every journey with Bev and Hybrid technology.
To make the car appear more futuristic Toyota has given its a new centre console that has a gear shifter and rotary dials replaced by the usual gearbox interface.
New Electric Specs
The car would be equipped with a 59.3 KWH lithium ion battery but Toyota has not specified the range as of yet. The battery is quite special in itself as it has been constructed using various smaller modules mounted on the floor board. The car would support Type 2AC and CCS- 2 DC chargers.
The Battery would power the electric motor mounted on the rear axle. The motor would be able to emit close to 180hp and a peak torque figure of around 700 NM. Rest of the technical details are still under wraps. Toyota has not yet clarified whether the model would reach production spec or not. Or whether it would be launched in India.
