New Delhi: Toyota India has re-opened bookings for Hilux pickups in the country. The company temporarily stopped taking orders for the Hilux in February last year due to unprecedented demand. Customers can reserve the Toyota Hilux at dealers as well as online.
Commenting on the announcement, Mr. Atul Sood, Vice President, Sales & Strategic Marketing – Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, “It gives us immense pleasure to announce that we have opened bookings for the Hilux – an iconic vehicle that has been embraced by generations. Worldwide. Our desire is to excite our customers with lifetime experiences to fulfill their aspirational needs by providing them with greater mobility options.”

The Toyota Hilux was launched in the Indian market last year in three grades: 4×4 MT Standard, 4×4 MT High and 4×4 AT High. The pick-up was introduced in a price range of Rs 33.99-36.80 lakh (ex-showroom). It is already sold in more than 180 countries worldwide with sales exceeding 20 million units.
Engine
Based on the Innovative Multi-purpose Vehicle (IMV) platform, the Toyota Hilux is powered by a 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine. It is the same platform (body-on-frame chassis construction) that underpins the Fortuner SUV in India. The Hilux can be equipped with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission. 4×4 drive is part of the standard equipment of a whole range of variants.
Features
It is equipped with several features of the first segment, such as driving mode options (Power & Eco), tire angle monitoring and front parking sensors. The collector has a wading capacity of 700 mm. Other comfort features include leather seats, dual-zone fully automatic climate control, smart entry, automatic headlights and an 8-inch tabletop-style infotainment screen with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay.
