New Delhi: Toyota has confirmed that it will soon launch a new SUV in its luxury sedan lineup. Its debut could happen by the end of this year. Toyota’s management has confirmed the arrival of this new model on the occasion of the unveiling program of the new generation Vellfire MPV. Its sales will be accompanied by the new SUV sedan, which has been in the market since 1967.
Sales will also take place outside of Japan. This new SUV will be the company’s second product after the popular Crossover Sedan with the Sensuous Badge. While its sales will be in Japan, the Sensuous SUV will be presented as a global product. The company will utilize this strategy to expand the Sensuous brand in other markets outside of Japan, just as it did for its Crown brand, which is sold in several markets including North America.
It will offer luxury and comfort features. According to media reports, this will be a monocoque SUV designed primarily for city-centric driving experiences rather than off-roading. It is expected that the Sensuous SUV will excel in terms of space and comfortable features, providing customers with an exceptional experience.
It will have a significant size. Toyota may use the same monocoque architecture platform for this new SUV as the one used for the Toyota Grand Highlander SUV. Both will have the same wheelbase, but the Sensuous SUV will be larger than the Grand Highlander. According to sources, this SUV will be approximately 5.2 meters long and two meters wide.
Powertrain-wise, the current Sensuous sedan comes with a V12 petrol engine, but it won’t be used for the SUV. The new Toyota Sensuous SUV will feature a petrol-hybrid powertrain. Currently, there is limited information available about it, but further details may be revealed in the near future.
It may compete with the Bentley Bentayga SUV in the global market, which could potentially offer a 4.0L petrol engine. This SUV is known for its luxury and comfort and has a top speed of 290 kilometers per hour. Its price starts from 4.10 crore rupees.
