New Delhi: Toyota Kirloskar Motor, the Japanese automaker, showcased its second-generation Toyota C-HR through the Prologue concept in December 2022. Now, the images of its production model have been released. This new crossover has been designed and developed for Europe, and its sales are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2024. The 2024 Toyota C-HR has undergone significant development in terms of design and powertrain compared to the concept model. It will feature a dual-tone color scheme and 20-inch alloy wheels while maintaining the sporty character of its predecessor. The integration of sensors, cameras, and headlight washers has been improved, and aerodynamics has also been enhanced.
Dimensions:
The length of the new 2024 Toyota C-HR will be between 4360 mm and 4370 mm, the width will be 1830 mm, and the height will range from 1558 mm to 1564 mm. It is relatively large, similar to the previous model, with no significant changes in overall length. Its wheelbase measures 2640 mm.
Features:
The 2024 Toyota C-HR will come equipped with features such as a connected 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch full digital instrument cluster, JBL sound system in high trims, HUD (head-up display), a panoramic sunroof, and 64-color ambient lighting. The new GR Sport Premier version will receive sporty red treatment with GR badges inside and outside.
Powertrain:
In Europe, the 2024 Toyota C-HR will be available exclusively with a hybrid powertrain. It will offer a plug-in hybrid with a 1.8L engine generating 140 bhp and a 2.0L hybrid FWD setup producing 198 bhp, along with an optional AWD system.
Toyota’s Future Plans for India:
Toyota Kirloskar Motor currently does not have any plans to launch the C-HR in India. This year, the company plans to introduce a micro SUV based on the Maruti Suzuki Fronx. The Toyota Fronx Edition is expected to feature some cosmetic changes, likely inspired by the European-spec Toyota Yaris Cross. Additionally, the company is developing a 7-seater SUV based on the TNGA-C modular platform, which will be similar to the Innova Crysta. Moreover, Toyota is preparing to launch the next-generation Toyota Fortuner in the future.
