New Delhi: Tata Motors is gaining popularity and some of its models are making it to the list of best selling passenger vehicles in India and best selling cars in India. The domestic automaker also leads the EV sales segment with the Nexon EV. But let’s take a look at the top 3 selling Tata cars for July 2022 along with their sales figures and year-on-year growth.

Tata Altroz

Tata Altroz ​​ranks third in the list of Tata’s best-selling cars with sales of 6,159 units in July 2022 compared to 6,980 units in July 2021. Tata Motors records a negative growth of 12 percent in Altroz ​​sales.

The Tata Altroz ​​is sold with a 1.2-litre NA petrol engine, a 1.2-litre turbo petrol or a 1.5-litre diesel engine, mated to a manual or DCT transmission. The naturally aspirated petrol engine has 85 hp, the diesel 89 hp, while the turbo petrol version has 108 hp.

Tata Punch

The Tata Punch is an SUV positioned below the Nexon in the Tata lineup. In the past few months, the Punch has been on the list of best-selling cars and as of July 2022, Tata Motors has sold 11,007 units of the Punch. Since Punch was not on sale last July, no year-on-year growth figures are available.

The Tata Punch is offers a standard 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 84bhp of power and 113Nm of torque, mated to a manual or AMT gearbox. The car has a mileage of 18.9 kmpl, competing with the newly launched Citroen C3, Maruti Suzuki Ignis and Mahindra KUV100 among others.

Tata Nexon

Tata Nexon is Tata’s best-selling vehicle in July and also the best-selling SUV in July 2022. The company sold 14,214 units last month compared to 10,287 in July 2021, a year-on-year increase of 38%.

The Tata Nexon is offers a petrol and diesel engine options, with a choice of manual and AMT transmissions. The Nexon is also offered in all-electric versions called Prime and Max, which lead the EV sales segment in India.
