Who would have thought that the Royal Enfield parallel twin powered continental GT would be transformed into a dragster that is capable of running down the dragstrip with ease.
Revelery racing a private race team has built a new royal Enfield Continental Gt twin with a tweaked stroked 965 cc engine. The Bike has been given all the necessary credentials for it to go racing. This would has given the racers a edge over the others who participate in the modified class.
Changes To The Bike
As per the video that the enthusiast has uploaded he has made significant changes to the bike to convert it into a dragster. The first change that he described was to the front handle that allows the bike to stay stable under aggressive race starts. To provide the bike with stability it has been provided with a longer swingarm along with new cogs, flywheels and rear set footpegs.
A Twin Drive Setup
Beyond the other changes that have been done to the bike one of the most ingenious changes would be the twin drive setup that the bike has been provided. The upgrade to the big sized wheels at the rear of the bike have lead the designer to use a twin drive setup to allow the bike to have better traction when launched. Beyond that the bike has gone through considerable changes such as new camshafts and transmissions that allow the bike to achieve the acceleration.
Specs Of The Normal Continental Gt
The Specs of the normal Royal Enfield Gt stand at 47. 4 PS of power @ 7250 rpm along with a peak torque of 52.3 Nm @5150 Rpm. The specs of the drag bike would be very different than the normal continental Gt as most of the internals like the piston and transmission have bene changed for better racing down a drag strip. The Bike does a quarter mile time of around 11.77 seconds.
