Despite the zero rating in Australasian NCAP crash test, the Mahindra Scorpio is the top selling SUV in the market. SUVs are gaining a unique craze, especially those with large tire sizes and spacious headspace.
In November, both models of Mahindra Scorpio, the N and Classic, led in sales, followed by Hyundai Creta with 11,814 units sold and Kia Seltos with 11,684 units. Maruti Grand Vitara secured the fourth position with 7,397 units sold, while Honda Elevate claimed the fifth spot with a total of 4,755 units.
These SUVs come in both 6 and 7 seater options. The base model is priced at ₹13.26 lakh ex-showroom and is equipped with engines of 1997cc and 2184cc. The company offers both diesel and petrol engine options for this SUV. It has received a 5-star rating in the Global NCAP crash test, but recently, it received a zero rating in the Australasian NCAP crash test.
Meanwhile, the Mahindra Scorpio Classic offers an option of up to 9 seats and provides a boot space of up to 460 liters when the seats are reduced. The base model of this SUV is priced at ₹10.87 lakh ex-showroom, and it comes in seven variants. The company is set to release a new update for this SUV on January 16, 2024, featuring an anti-lock braking system.
The Hyundai Creta boasts an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, and the car comes in 6 monotone and 1 dual-tone color options. This 5-seater car is powered by a 1.5-liter petrol engine, and a diesel engine option is also available. The car offers both 6-speed manual and automatic transmission. Recently, the company launched the adventure model of this car.
