A rimless E-Bike that has a rim less motor that allows it to propel the rider to a speed of around 20 to 30 kmph. The Helen Bike rimless bike was seen being showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo with the rimless configuration. As per the video that has been doing rounds over the internet the bike is seen with a rear tire that does not have any motors. It runs off of a hubless motor that allows the Helen Bikes manufacturer to showcase a bike that has no rim inserts at the rear.
While the bike was a prototype Helen seems to have designed it with full road use in perceptive. As the bike also had a suspension mounted within the frame of the bike. This allows the manufacturer to have a high tech design with a composite chassis. The Bike has a motor probable iteration of a brushless Dc motor. Such motors work by the interaction between the different magnetic fields of stator as well as the rotor.
This allows the manufacturer to manufacture a iteration that is rim and hubless. Helen bikes is still testing the adaptability of the bike in Indian market, and hence its possible that it might be launched soon.
Helen Bikes is as they like to call themselves the worlds first fully electric hub less bicycle manufacturing company. Beyond their ethos of producing hubless bikes they harbor the aim of producing the most futuristic looking bikes at the most affordable prices.
The brand is as of yet in their budding stage, and have been helped by various start up foundations such as AIC-SKU Confederation, Startup India Seed Fund Scheme and beyond that Motion COE.
Other Bikes With Hubless Motors
A few other bikes that use the same principle as that of the Hubless motor type would be the Verge Motorcycles that have been manufactured in Finland. These bikes have been produced to provide the riders with a unique design that is unlike any other bike in the world.
The vehicle provides the users with relentless power with a unique design philosophy. If Helen Bikes is able to bring such technology to Indian on a budget it would be beneficial for EV users.
