New Delhi: In view of the increasing demand for cars during the festive season, the country’s leading car manufacturers are planning to launch 5 new cars in September. Set to be launched in the domestic market next month, these SUVs are going to be offered by Tata, Mahindra and Honda. Some models of these cars have already been revealed, let’s know about them.
Tata Nexon Facelift
The design of the facelifted Tata Nexon will be heavily influenced by the design of the Curve concept and its interiors are expected to get major changes as well. A new 1.2L turbo DI petrol engine producing 125 PS is likely to replace the existing petrol mill and will be mated to a manual or DCT. The advanced features list is expected to include a bigger 10.25-inch touchscreen, a bigger digital cluster, a 360-degree camera system, 6 airbags, a new steering wheel and touch-based HVAC.
Honda Elevate
Honda Elevate prices in India will be announced next month and the mid-size SUV has already been introduced. The 5-seater SUV from Honda is based on the same platform as the fifth generation City and uses the same 1.5L naturally aspirated VTEC petrol engine, mated to a 6-speed MT or CVT.
Citroën C3 Aircross
The Citroen C3 Aircross will be available in a fully-loaded Max trim and will be offered in both 5 and 7-seater options. Sold in 10 colour schemes, the mid-size SUV incorporates more than 90 per cent local content. Thus, its pricing can be aggressive. It is based on the same CMP platform as the C3 and draws power from a 1.2L turbo petrol engine producing 110 PS. It is mated only to a 6-speed MT.
Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus
The Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus is expected to be positioned below the Scorpio Classic. The Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus has been a long time coming and its prices are also expected to be announced in September. It will be sold in multiple seating configurations and will be powered by the familiar 2.2-litre diesel engine that will produce 120 PS of power.
Toyota Compact SUV
To cash in on the festive fervour, a rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx is expected to hit the market in September or October. It will get minor exterior and interior changes compared to its donor and will draw power from either the 1.2L K-Series, 3-cylinder petrol or the 1.0L 3-pot turbo petrol engine. Its equipment list will be almost similar to the Franks.
