Ford Endeavour was a vehicle that cemented Ford’s presence in India. Along with it other vehicles such as the Figo, Apire and Fiesta Ford was able to offer the users impeccable performance with affordable upkeep.
While the brand headed an exodus from India in 2021, its considering a re-entry into the Indian market soon. The Endeavour globally known as the Everest would possibly be the first vehicle the manufacturer would launch upon its re-entry. As per the recent news update its possible that the brand might offer a 3.0 liter V6 diesel as a offering in the Indian Market.
Return Of Ford
While the brand has not revealed any details about the re entry its possible that upon its launch the V6 would be a option for all the buyers.
As per news reports it has become evident that Ford would source the 2.0 diesel from Sanand in Gujarat a place where 2.0 l diesel engines are built for exports. The V6 is probably a new approach by the brand to widen their horizons and give the brand a new and more elite status.
The 3.0 Liter V6 also powers the Ford Ranger pickup and Fords iconic F-150 in the US market. The power and torque that the 3.0 liter engine would be able to provide would be quite unlike any other Power Mill currently present in India. This would give the Endeavour a new place and position in the Indian Market.
Auto car reported that the engine that might be introduced is currently being manufactured in South Africa at the Struandale Engine Plant. The engine would have a large variable Turbo, along with dual overhead camshafts. But beyond all that the engine has also been equipped with a heater module to ensure that it starts in Sub Zero Temperatures as well. The V6 would be on offer along with a 2.0 liter diesel in the Indian spec Ford Everest.
Ford EV’s On The Horizon
While the brand has not confirmed any thing themselves its possible that they might soon launch EV’s in the Indian market. The brand might bring in CBU imports along with plans for locally produced electric cars as well.
