Roxx to feature ventilated seats, advanced safety tech, and bold design
Mahindra has announced that the new Thar Roxx will include features such as ventilated front seats, hill descent control, an electrically operated rear differential lock, wide tires, a bold front design, and large window glass. For safety, it will offer six airbags, an anti-lock braking system, adaptive cruise control, a level 2 advanced driver assistance system, lane keep assist, autonomous emergency braking, a 360-degree camera, and a tire pressure monitoring system.
Thar Roxx vs. Force Gurkha: Engine options and key features compared
The new Thar Roxx will come with both petrol and diesel engines. It will feature a 2-liter turbo-petrol engine and a 2.2-liter diesel engine. Buyers will have the option of a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. These engines are the same ones used in the current model.
The main competitor to the new Roxx is the new Force Gurkha, which starts at Rs 16.75 lakh. It comes with a 2.6-liter turbocharged diesel engine producing 140PS of power and 320Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. The Gurkha offers 4×4 capability and has a ground clearance of 233mm. It can wade through 700mm of water without stalling, which is one of its standout features. It remains to be seen how well the new Thar will be received by customers.
