Tata Motors, a reliable name in the Indian automotive industry, is set to introduce two new models—the Tata Tiago EV Blitz Edition and Tata Altroz EV. These anticipated electric versions align with the growing trend of EVs in the market and are expected to provide extended range capabilities along with essential safety features like airbags and anti-lock braking systems.
Tata Tiago EV Blitz Edition
Initially showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo, the Tiago EV Blitz Edition promises luxury and comfort within its new generation design. Priced between Rs 10 to 15 lakh (ex-showroom), Tata hasn’t disclosed the official release date or pricing yet. Speculations suggest an anticipated launch around April 2024.
Featuring Dual Color Options and Advanced Technology
This stylish car boasts a 315-kilometer range on a full charge with its 24 kWh battery setup, delivering 75 bhp power. Expected to offer automatic transmission, the 5-seater vehicle emphasizes features like touchscreen infotainment, airbags, ABS, and a digital display, catering to family-centric needs. LED headlights and taillights enhance its aesthetic appeal.
Tata Altroz EV
Following its recent CNG variant launch, the Altroz EV, priced at Rs 12 to 15 lakh (ex-showroom), is projected to deliver a range of up to 306 km on a single charge. Charging with a standard charger will take about 8 hours to reach full capacity. Equipped with a 26 kWh battery generating 127.2 bhp, the anticipated launch for this model is estimated around January 2025. Similar to other Tata EVs, it will support charging through a DC fast charger.
Tata’s initiative with the Tiago EV Blitz Edition and Altroz EV further solidifies the company’s commitment to providing affordable yet technologically advanced electric vehicle options for the growing market demand.
