New Delhi: Tata Motors has launched the CNG version of the Tiago NRG priced between Rs 7.40 lakh and Rs 7.80 lakh. Available in two variants – XT and XZ – the Tiago NRG CNG costs Rs 90,000 more than the equivalent petrol Tiago NRG. This makes it the third model in Tata Motors’ CNG range after the Tiago and Tigor CNG which were launched in January this year.

Tata Tiago NRG CNG: Powertrain and Fuel Consumption
The CNG version of the Tiago NRG is powered by the same 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine as the Tiago and Tigor CNG, which is only mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. This engine produces 86 bhp and 113 Nm in petrol mode and 73 bhp and 95 Nm in CNG mode.
However, the brand did not mention the fuel consumption figure of the crosshatchback. While the brand has not mentioned the fuel consumption figure of the crosshatchback, it is expected that it could be similar to the 26.49 km/kg figure of the Tiago and Tigor CNG models.
Tata Tiago NRG CNG: Design and Features
Recently, Tata Motors expanded the variant range of the petrol Tiago NRG by introducing the XT mid-trim. And since the Tiago NRG CNG is based on the XT and XZ trims of its petrol counterpart, it shares the same design details and features.
Durable exterior styling features on the top-spec XZ include faux roof rails and skid plates, blacked-out B-pillar and door mirrors, 15-inch steel wheels, black plastic trim along the underbody and above the wheel. arches and a thick plastic trim on the rear door with the inscription CNG.
Tata has placed a 60-litre CNG tank in the boot of the crosshatchback, which in turn takes up some of the storage space.

The interior of the Tiago NRG CNG model has also not seen any changes, retaining the all-black color design with cloth seats. Some of the highlights of the XZ top trim of the Tiago NRG CNG include fog lamps, 7.0-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, Harman sound system, refrigerated in-dash box, engine start/stop button. and a height-adjustable driver’s seat. Safety kit includes dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors and day and night mirrors.
Tata Tiago NRG CNG: Competitions
As a cross-hatch derivative of the Tiago, the Tiago NRG has no direct rivals in the market. However, when it comes to price, the Tiago NRG CNG competes with the CNG versions of the Maruti Suzuki Swift (Rs 7.77-8.45 million) and the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios (Rs 7.16-8.45 million).
