New Delhi: Vehicle manufacturer Tata Motors has revealed that the company is about to launch its new electric car Tata Tiago Electric. The launch of this car will be done on 28 September this month. This newest car of the company is also going to be the cheapest electric car in the country as well as it will also be the country’s first mass-market EV hatchback.
What will be the range?
According to the information received so far, this car can get the same features as the company’s existing EV Tigor. The car may get a new permanent magnet synchronous electric motor with a capacity of 75bhp which will be mated to a 26kWh battery pack with IP67 rating, a more advanced battery pack and EV powertrain. The car is also expected to offer a range of up to 306 km per single charge, similar to the Tata Tigor. Fast charging option can be seen in this car.
How will the design
Like the Tigor EV, the Tiago EV could also come with a lot of features including the presence of a blue accent, though more details about the features will be known only after its launch. It will be interesting to see how the positioning of its battery pack will affect the boot space of the car. However, the Tata Tigor EV is the cheapest electric car in the country right now, and the launch of the Tiago EV at a lower price will attract more customers towards electric vehicles. Now it will be interesting to see with what price and range Tata launches this electric car. Tata Motors’ Nexon EV is the most successful electric car in the country and it has no competition in the market right now, but many other cars are going to come in this segment soon. While no electric car is present in the hatchback segment in the country, the Tiago EV has ample opportunity to cement its position in this segment.
